Mastering the Smoky Eye

Finally at Goal Weight #2

It took a long time but I have finally reached 140 lbs. I have added strength training, been closely monitoring my calorie/carb intake and so far so good. The weight is coming off slow, but the point is it’s coming off or transforming into muscle. I have been working out with my friend Mike and working all kinds of muscles I didn’t know I had. Apparently it burns a lot of calories too so he suggests cutting back on cardio a little and adding it in daily with different muscle groups. We’ll see.

I had the best weekend in a while. I went out Friday night with my friend Courtney. I barely ever go out and it felt so nice to dress up and feel good when I walked out of the house. I felt confident and like a normal girl going out to a bar. Crazy feeling.

I had 2 drinks (allowed myself to indulge a little) and we danced and hung around. There were some weirdos there for sure and we had to avoid them, but the highlight of the night was this one guy who came up to me and asked me to dance. I saw him staring at me at the bar and he was super cute but I didn’t think much of it at the time. He came over and asked me to dance and I was like umm ok. I’m super nervous dancing with boys so I didn’t know how. I just turned and let him dance behind me which was I guess what most people do. Hahaha after the song I turn around and we talk. He was like, I’m so glad I came up to you, I wanted to talk to you for like 20 minutes but I was too nervous. It was funny, we also both agreed we didn’t like grinding at all, and so we danced like total white kids and he like twirled me. He said the cutest thing to me I will never forget. “I don’t wanna grind with you, I just wanna twirl you like a princess.” I died hahaha. There couldn’t be a more perfect thing to say to me than that.

Anyways, I’m going on too long here. Basically, it was awesome getting out there and feeling like a normal girl for once in my life. I didn’t feel self conscious or anything, I just felt pretty. I’m trying not to get too comfortable though, I have more goals to attain. I wanna lose some more weight, and tone up my bod, and become strong. I think I can achieve if I just keep going strong. It definitely helped to enjoy my progress for the night though. I recommend all of you try it out just if you find yourself losing motivation or faith. Enjoy the changes you’ve already made, and also think of how much better you’ll feel once you get to where you wanna be.

Thanks to everyone who gave feedback on starting weight training. I think I’m gonna slowly work into it, but I’m not gonna lie, being stronger would be really awesome, in addition to helping lose weight if it does.

Tonight is my favoriteeeeeeeeeeee workout night and I’m really excited to go to the gym. I think this is how I know I’m changing my life rather than just succeeding at a diet, because I love having a routine and look forward to certain nights.

Good stuff.

Would love to see the scale get down to 140 soon but I know my body is changing regardless. I’ve been shopping without buying anything, but just seeing where I’m at, and am thrilled to be comfortably at the end of single digit pants sizes. Yay!

Tuesday!

Hello all! 

Tuesday is my absolute favorite day of the week because it’s the night I’m guaranteed two hours of cardio watching Biggest Loser and I tend to get really into my workout this night. I am at total gym rat status right now :p

Every one I’ve talked to is telling me the best way to re-invigorate my weight loss is to start strength training; even just 20 minutes of it a day. I’ve known this for a long time but I’m stubborn and am kinda nervous about it. I decided that if my bodybuilding secret admirer/decided new best friend wants to, I’ll finally take him up on his offer to start training me. I don’t know exactly why I’ve been anxious about it but I think I can trust him to help me get started and break that nervousness.

I’m incredibly optimistic.

Current Weight: 141.6 (bloated from shark week) but still goin strong.

Have any of you experienced extra weight loss/toning from adding strength training to cardio? All these guys I’ve talked to keep saying it’s best, but I haven’t asked any women. Feedback from any of you wonderful men or women would be greatly appreciated :D

I just bought myself a nice bra today because I have officially changed bra sizes with the weight loss. I’m not gonna lie, it is a bit sad to be leaving the land of size C cups, but B doesn’t stand for bad, it stands for babe-licious. Mhmm Sam keep telling yourself this. Haha.

141 Pounds!

Broke through again! Maybe my body is just meant to lose once a week, so I need to not worry so much about the scale, all will be okay.

I am 141 lbs and 1 lb away from my next weight goal. So happpyyyyy!

I’m gonna go get some cardio and ab stuff in today and then probably just relax for the rest of the day unless my friend wants to get some cardio in later :D

Hello tumblers!

Hey everyone! Sorry I haven’t been updating as much. This week has been kinda hectic and stressful and I haven’t made time to come on and interact much on tumblr. 

I am still at 142 lbs, which is still alright because I know how hard I’m working and that the weight will eventually come off. I did a lot of cardio all week, except Wednesday where I crashed from exhaustion after work and caught up on rest.

I’ve included morning cardio into my days and although it’s tiring, it gives me a boost in many different ways.

I wake up a bit earlier, get ready and dress in my gym clothes and head to the gym. I do some light cardio to mellow music or watch netflix on my phone and just get my heart rate up for a half hour without sweating too much. This really gets me energized and going for the day and makes me worry less about getting lots of cardio in later. I think I’m going to try and do this every day if my body allows me to get up. The gym on weekday mornings is great too because it’s still a little dark and I watch the sun come up and there’s a bunch of cute old people in there. It’s just nice.

I also picked a go-to cardio machine to really bust it out on. I mean I work hard at all the machines, but this one in particular I like to channel aggression and use angry metal to completely beast out. Haha it sounds funny, but I love this part of the workout because I get really into it and I always feel better afterwards. It’s good if I’ve had a bad day, I just sweat it all out.

I’ve started using whey protein as well, with suggestion from my friend the bodybuilder :p I bought this brand called Whey Factors in Double Chocolate flavor and it is SO FREAKIN YUMMY! I’ve tried a few kinds before but this one rocks. It is super low in fat, sugar, carbs, sodium, etc. It’s 80 cals a scoop, and if you mix it with milk, it’s just like drinkin nesquik. I highly recommend.

This morning, I used my bootleg Magic Bullet thing to make one with ice.

I filled the cup with ice, crushed it, put 1 cup skim milk, 1 scoop, and also added a small package serving of Justin’s Maple Almond Butter. Let me tell you, it did not feel like I was drinking a protein shake. It was delicious. If you’re looking for a way to get over 20 grams of protein and have it taste good, try this!

Anyways, hoping to see the scale budge this coming week, but not stressing much more. Soon enough, I’m gonna try doing strength training with body builder boy and maybe that addition will help my progress.

Update for the end of February

Today’s weight: Still 142. That’s still quite alright with me.

It’s the end of February and I am going to dive right into March with the most positive of outlooks :D

I feel so good about where I’m at and am actually looking forward to the rest of this journey. I have gotten so far and I know I will achieve even better things by summer.

But, enough about me :p

I feel the need to spread my positivity and motivation with people. I want this so much and I wish I could help more people that want it too. Any one of us can do this and have the power to change our bodies and self-images.

If anyone needs advice, friendship, support, etc. I am here and love to help!

Let me zap all my positive energy your way. You can do this!

I never thought I could get off my butt and do this, but if I can, you can.

Tonight’s workout:

2 hours of assorted cardio.

Stretching and some abwork before bed.
